Ipamorelin simultaneously activates ghrelin receptors (GHS-R1a) on the same cells, generating sharp GH pulses while also suppressing somatostatin — effectively releasing the brake on GHRH-stimulated secretion.

Ipamorelin’s binding selectivity is substantially higher than GHRP-2 or GHRP-6, meaning it does not activate the ACTH/cortisol axis or stimulate prolactin secretion at research-relevant doses.
